I love my 15-year-old cat, Mittens-Ann, but I’m not blind to her faults. This is one stubborn cat who hates having her feet touched, and if I were to try to trim her nails, I’d probably end up in the hospital! She has a huge fur ball problem, too, and coughs them up constantly. But will she let me brush her? Not much, so it’s really hard to keep her clean and get that loose fur off her. I told John when I booked her grooming appointment that she was a bit of a diva, and warned him that she was also a “biter.” He told me not to worry.
And he was right. I knew as soon as he came to the house that this was going to be perfect. John and Amber spent a few minutes getting to know Mittens-Ann first, then gently put her in her carrier and brought her out to the van to be washed.
When they brought her back a short time later, Mittens-Ann was fluffy and calm, and her claws were perfectly trimmed (no more tick-tick-tick when she walks across the wood floor.) They also used a de-shedding rinse to help get the fur ball situation under control. And she stayed with us as soon as we let her out of the carrier. If it had been a bad experience, she would have shot out of the room looking for the closest bed to hide under. Instead, she just sauntered over to a sunny spot in the living room, and sat there wearing the little bow tie collar that John had put on her as if to say, “You may adore me now.” She certainly was beautiful!
Pampered Paws Mobile Pet Grooming gets my highest recommendation. I’m so glad I found them!
